I never realized that I had this issue until freshman year of college, when it occurred around weekly with various people I met on campus. Are you implying that some programs (like food stamps?) are not good because they keep people from rising up and/or acting in their best interests? While some of Lindsay workers, like Aristotle Polites, were willing to do whatever it took to please the Beach Club clients, others like Brent Marks felt like the jobs were demeaning and decided not to help at all. Whether it is to counter the dominating power of other streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and the upcoming streaming platforms from Disney and Apple is anybody’s guess.
